FA Lift Boro Transfer Banby Andy White Tuesday, July 27, 2010
FARNBOROUGH are once again able to sign players following the FA's decision to lift a transfer embargo placed upon them.
Boro were prevented from signing anyone after failing to play their players but are free to do so now they have cleared all outstanding debts.
A statement on the club's website said: "Steve King will now be able to build his squad for next season and will
surely be looking into securing and renewing some contracts at the club
as soon as possible.
"The trialists at Farnborough have shown patience
and positivity in waiting for this embargo to be lifted; even with
interest from rival clubs they have continued to play a part in Boro’s
pre-season and hope to make King’s final cut.
"Fans can now look forward
to hearing more news of potential new recruits to join the Farnborough
cause."
Boro chairman Simon Hollis commented: "I am delighted that this long drawn out saga has been concluded and hopefully this will put supporters minds at rest!
"The club have always been very comfortable that this issue would be resolved but were becoming concerned with the length of time that it has taken. We can now look forward to the forth coming season without this matter hanging over us."
