Supporters Help Stags Sign Strikerby Andy White Thursday, July 29, 2010
MANSFIELD TOWN supporters group The 12th Stag has helped fund the signing of striker Paul Connor.
The 31-year-old has a great deal of experience having started out as a trainee at Middlesbrough before spells at Gateshead, Hartlepool, Stoke, Cambridge United, Rochdale, Swansea, Leyton Orient, Cheltenham and Lincoln.
Connor joins the club on a 12-month contract, with £3,000 of his wages being paid for by The 12th Stag.
Paul Nyland, a representative of The 12th Stag, commented: "We are very excited to be able to contribute to Paul Connor's wages,
especially at such an early stage after The 12th Stag's creation.
"May this be the first of many signings that The 12th Stag can help
contribute to. Big thanks must go to the fans who have added money to
the fund and also to the club for allowing us to be a part of this new
signing."
