Four Welsh clubs learn their European fate

THE Welsh sides involved in this season’s European competitions have learned their fate after the Champions League and Europa League draws this afternoon.

Champions The New Saints are the lone competitors in the Champions League and they will take on B36 Tórshavn from the Faroe Islands in the first qualifying round. The first leg will take place on June 30/July 1 with the return game on July 7/8.

If they make it past the Faroese side, they will take on Hungarian outfit Videoton FC in the second qualifying round.

In the Europa League first qualifying round, Bala Town will take on Differdange 03 from Luxembourg, Newtown face Maltese side Valletta while Airbus UK have been paired with NK Lokomotiva Zagreb of Croatia.

The first games of those ties are scheduled to take place on July 2 with the second leg a week later on July 9.
