Welcome to the second update of a new season of Fantasy Non-League. Today's update covers the period Sunday 3rd September 2017 through to Saturday 9th September 2017
In today's update, you learn how you can discover your points total and place in this season's competition if you don't have access to the internet. Also, news on FNL Mini-Leagues.
If you have no access at all to the internet I am happy to supply a text service every two or three weeks with your position in the FNL table and the points you have scored. Please can I ask that as I do this competition all by myself that you only request the text service if you have no access to the internet at all. It is not possible for me to do hundreds of texts. If you would like to take advantage of the text service, please send a text to the FNL Helpdesk with team name and surname please. Over the last few years I have run a number of FNL Mini-Leagues.
These mini-leagues are updated every two weeks and appear on my own fantasy website. So, if there are a number of you involved in the fight for FNL supremacy then why not ask me to run you a mini-league. I do it free of charge.
An example of what I mean is I have a couple mini-leagues that have run for a few years now they are a set of St Albans City supporters and Havant & Waterlooville supporters. If you would like to have you own FNL Mini-League, then again please get in touch with the FNL Helpdesk.
In an e-mail, this week I have been asked to explain the difference between the monthly bonuses for Manager of the Month and the main season monthly bonuses. So I thought I would share it with all of you.
The change was made a couple years ago. Original there was only one set of bonuses at the end of each month that was 25pts for the team leading their respective league and the bottom team in each league got -25pts that was based on the realworld leagues.
But what I noticed was happening was that a player's team let's say called Roger's Reds who was in 1,095th place in the main table was leading the Manager of the Month right up to the final day of the month, so the teams he had picked had performed the best that month and had placed him in that position. Then I awarded the end of month bonuses and suddenly he would find himself down in 10th. The reason that had happen was because he didn't have many of the league leaders.
So, I decided that the end of month bonuses would alter. The league leaders at the end of each month and bottom club would be awarded their bonuses but those would only count towards the main season total.
Then the best and the worst team in each league based on the months results only would get 25pts and -25pts. Because quite often the league leaders are not the top performers in the month.
