WELCOME to your latest update of FNL 2016/17. Today's update covers the period Sunday 18th September 2016 through to Saturday 24th September 2016.
The first FNL Mini-Leagues are now on-line. At this moment I have a total of five mini-leagues displayed. You can see them by visiting my fantasy website which can be accessed via the following link – http://iwfantasyfootball.yolasite.com/ the FNL mini-leagues are listed on the menu on the left hand side.
It is not too late to have your own FNL mini-league. They come out every two weeks or so. Just get in touch with the FNL Helpdesk and I will give you the details.
Last Friday was of course the final day of September 2016 and that means we will be announcing our first winners of this season with the August/September 2016 Manager of the Month. So with just six days to go who is the running for the first prizes of the FNL 2016/17 Season.
This first Manager of the Month does of course follow the main table quite closely. Leading the way at the moment is Larry!!!, he has 5,143pts he is only 8pts ahead of seconded placed FastStarters FC and 34pts ahead of third placed Ashburton Argyle. The top ten is covered by only 79pts.
Of course there are some bonuses to be added to the Manager of the Month scores after midnight on Friday 30th September 2016. These bonuses are for the top and bottom clubs during August and September. Each of the two months is taken separately and these bonuses are only added to the monthly scores not the main season scores. So who will win the August/September 2016 Manager of the Month? Find out in next week's update.
When people contact me via the FNL Helpdesk it is quite surprizing to hear the disappointment in their voices when I tell them that their team is in 1,378th place. I then tell them not to panic because last season we had a Manager of the Month winner who was way down the main table in 1,000 and something place. In fact, take a look at today's top five teams for this week and two of them are below the 1,000 place mark. So not all is lost!!
Finally, a couple more things. A quick mention about the new rule this season for conceding 4 goals. The -5-point deduction only applies if the team conceding 4 goals loses the match. Secondly if you don't see your team in the paper this does not mean we don't have it. In total we have 1,618 competitors this season so please check on-line on the NLP website.
