Thamesmead striker Alex Teniola looks ahead after huge FA Cup win

THAMESMEAD Town are revelling in another milestone – and four-goal striker Alex Teniola has set his sights on more glory.

Twelve months ago, Mead created FA Cup history by playing in the very first tie to be held in the Channel Islands after travelling to and returning with a 2-2 draw.

And on Saturday they achieved another club milestone after rallying to a thumping 8-0 away victory at – a club record victory in the FA Cup and the biggest margin of victory in Mead's 48-year history.

Teniola netted four and had a fifth goal disallowed as magic Mead sauntered through to earn a first qualifying round home tie against either or .

“Saturday was a great experience, being involved in an 8-0 win, that was my first ,” said the star striker. “It was even better to do it in t he FA Cup, also very happy to make history for the club as well.

“Scoring four with half an hour to go was an amazing feeling. Fore me, the most importnat thing was it was helping me boost my confidence. As a striker, you always need to get going and hopefully keep momentum, so to open my account for the season with four was brilliant.

“I'm buzzing for all the boys, hopefully we carry on with great performances until the end of the season.”
