Briggs Not Panicking Just Yet

By Joshua Peck

KEITH BRIGGS knows that are struggling but is happy that his side have points on the board at this stage of the season.

Stalybridge have not won any of their last seven encounters, including five losses, leaving them just seven points above the drop zone in the Skrill North.

Celtic have played 25 games so far – joint most with – while the majority of the division have only played 21 or 22 but player-manager Briggs is happy with the situation.

Briggs said: “I'd rather points on the board at this stage. It's a difficult league and we've got the games out the way.

“If worse weather comes, then we won't be forced into squeezing in all our games. We would only be playing on Saturdays as it stands which is a huge difference to playing midweek as well.”

twice beat Stalybridge 5-0 in a matter of days over the festive period but Celtic earn a point at play-off hopefuls Solihull Moors with a 3-3 draw and Briggs is taking the positives from this result.

He added: “We've played a lot of the teams that are near the top of the league. We were five minutes away from beating Solihull but conceded two late goals.

“We are making individual errors and not making the right decisions when it matters. I expect more from myself and the players.”
