Frank Sinclair quits as boss of Colwyn Bay

FRANK SINCLAIR has resigned as manager of Colwyn Bay after yesterday's heavy defeat at in the Conference North.

The 5-0 thrashing leaves the Welsh club 15th in the table, five points clear of the relegation places but 11 adrift of the play-offs.

The Seagulls haven't won in seven games and their poor run of form led to the ex-Chelsea defender calling it a day.

Sinclair took over as player-manager in February 2013 and kept Bay in the Conference North against all the odds before a 12th place finish last season.

The former Jamaica international said: “Resigning as manager of Colwyn Bay was the hardest decision of my career, but for the future of the club was the best thing to do.

“I could not have dreamed of working for a better group of people in my first job in management, the experience and opportunity to learn my trade.

“It has been incredible. I've had some high points in my career but beating the drop in 2012-13 season, winning those six games was one of the best.

“I am proud that I have given 100 per cent to the cause, and leave the club on and off the pitch in a far better situation.”
