‘Little Old Braintree’ In The Fight For Play-Offs

By Matt Mundy

ALAN DEVONSHIRE has told his ‘little old Braintree' to remain calm in the run-in for a play-off place.

The Iron manager has guided the club to within touching distance of a play-off position in their third season in the Skrill Premier.

Despite a goalless draw with on Tuesday night the Essex club remain very much in the promotion picture.

Braintree earned huge praise after ruining Luton Town's title party last Saturday and tomorrow visit Cressing Road – a feature game in Sunday's Paper.

Devonshire said: “I've told the players the remaining games are big for us. It's fantastic at this stage of the season we're fighting for something. Not many people would have expected that of us, especially with our fixture backlog.

“Let's not get carried away now, though. Little old Braintree, you're having a laugh!”

“The Dartford game is big for both clubs. It's great that matches mean so much at this point of the season.”
