Alfreton Town Put Up For Sale

have been put up for sale by chairman Wayne Bradley, just days after the club finished their best ever season.

The Reds looked set to land a Skrill Premier play-off spot before being deducted three points for fielding an ineligible player and limping to an 11th placed finish.

It still signalled the highest ever finish for Nicky Law's men, who ended their campaign on Saturday with a 1-0 home defeat to Macclesfield.

The club have risen from the since 2002 and chairman Bradley says new ideas, and more importantly finances, are needed for the Reds to move forward.

He said: “We have had the best season where we have finished 11th in the Conference Premier division and competed strongly with the play-off positions for a long time.

“The long and short of it is I think I have got to the point where I have taken the club to the level where I always believed I could but it is obvious we need more input to be able to progress to the next level.

“We have got a support level that is going the wrong way and an income level that is following suit.

“There have been creaks in the club from the running point of it for around eight years. Trying to get new blood into the club has been diminishing year on year.

“Alfreton on gates on well below a thousand are trying to compete with clubs who have over 3000 and we have shown it can be done.

“If an individual or a group of people fancy taking the club over, I welcome them to put their plans to me and they can acquire a club which is in excellent shape in contrast to others at our level, debt free, in fine shape financially and clearly poised to be able to go to the next level with relative ease.

“Here is an opportunity, just knock on the door and I will gladly talk to them.”
