ALDERSHOT TOWN are on the lookout for a new manager after sacking boss Andy Scott and his assistant Terry Bullivant following Tuesday night's defeat to Kidderminster.
The 1-0 home loss, thanks to a 74th minute Jack Byrne goal, left the Shots in 18th place and just six points away from the relegation zone.
Scott was appointed Aldershot manager in February 2013 but couldn't stop the club from being relegated back into Non-League. After entering administration, the Shots started last season with a ten point deduction but they managed to stay up on goal difference.
However, they have won just nine of their 31 league games so far this season, and captain Chris Barker will take temporary charge of the side.
A Shots statement read: “Following the club's recent run of results, Aldershot Town have relieved manager Andy Scott and assistant Terry Bullivant of first-team duties for the remainder of their contracts.
“The club recognise and are grateful for Andy's contribution to Aldershot Town FC through a very difficult period of relegation and administration, but have now taken this tough decision to safeguard the team's immediate prospects in the Vanarama Conference.
“Until a permanent new manager can be appointed, club captain Chris Barker will take charge of the first-team, assisted by coach Matt Gray.
“The club hope that supporters will give their full backing to Chris, and will be unified behind a new manager in building a successful future for Aldershot Town.”
