LOUIS MOULT has become the latest Non-League player to move into the Scottish Premiership after leaving Wrexham to join Motherwell.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a productive first season in Wales after following boss Kevin Wilkin to the Racecourse from Nuneaton Town. The former Stoke youngster scored 23 times in all competitions including twice in the FA Trophy final defeat to North Ferriby.
However, he will be teaming up with former Kidderminster winger Marvin Johnson at the Well, after an undisclosed fee was agreed for the striker.
Moult, who has signed a three-year deal, said: “I'm delighted to be here and it is a massive step in my career and it wasn't a move I could turn down.
“I'm here to score goals and hopefully I can do that. In two seasons I've scored 40 goals and I'm going to try and make that 60 in three, or even more if I can.
“I've had a look at the side and I know they can play some fantastic attacking football. With the two pacey wingers who like to link up with the frontmen, hopefully that will suit me and I can hit the ground running.”
A Wrexham statement added: “We all appreciate the impact Louis has had since joining us just 12 months ago, but once the Scottish club had made an improved offer that was acceptable, it gave Louis the opportunity to further his career at another level.
“With games against the likes of Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts, it was always going to be a tempting offer for any player to consider.
“As a club we take pride in our employees, both on and off the pitch, who have moved on and up the footballing ladder. We are sure that Louis will make a success of the chance he has been given by Motherwell and we can only wish him well.
“Manager Gary Mills is already working on a replacement for Louis and we hope to be in a position to confirm the new arrival shortly.”
