Steve Burr nets another three signings for Chester

WINGER Jordan Chapell is the third player to sign for this week as continues to shape his squad for next season.

The 22-year-old started his career at United before moving to Torquay. He ended last season on loan at Grimsby Town and caught the eye of Burr when playing against Chester.

“I tried to get him in January but he opted for a move to Grimsby, which I can understand as they were going for promotion,” Burr said.

“Once we knew his contract was coming to an end with Torquay, we held several discussions with him and were chuffed that we've been able to get him to sign.

“Jordan can operate on either wing and can play almost anywhere in midfield. He has good qualities, and we hope we can work and build on that. He gives us a lot of options which is a bonus, and that's important when we're working with a relatively small squad.”

Also joining the Blues are experienced centre-half Ian Sharps from Burton Albion and 22-year-old former skipper Luke George.
