Ex-Barnet and Yeovil winger Iffy Allen earns short-term Wrexham deal

FORMER and Yeovil winger Iffy Allen has been given ten games to secure a longer deal at after joining the Dragons until the end of the season.

Allen started this term with Wrexham's rivals but left the club at the end of his deal in January after making 24 appearances, including 11 starts.

He has been out of the game since then but impressed Dragons boss Dean Keates during a trial spell and he has been signed up until the end of the campaign.

Still only 22, Allen started his career at Fulham but made his senior debut with Barnet in 2012. While with the Bees, Allen spent time on loan at Kingstonian, and .

Following eight first team appearances with Barnet, Allen was released in the summer of 2015 and signed a deal with League Two club Yeovil Town.

Allen played 16 times for the Glovers, most of them as a substitute, before he ended last season with in the National League, scoring three times in 13 appearances..

Wrexham hope they will receive international clearance in time for Allen to be involved against on Saturday at the Racecourse.

“He's done well in training with us and has something different to what we've got,” said Wrexham boss Keates.

“He goes past people and it's an opportunity over the last ten games for us to take a closer look.

“We are just waiting for clearance on that to go through. All being well things will fall into place and he'll be available to be in the squad for the weekend.”

Meanwhile, Callum Powell has left the Racecourse again to join on loan following a temporary spell with Leamington.

Forward Khaellem Bailey-Nicholls has moved to on loan until the end of the season and full-back Mitchell Lund has returned to parent club Doncaster Rovers after his month spell at the Racecourse.
