Tranmere Rovers are only going to get better, warns midfielder Jay Harris

JAY HARRIS has warned Tranmere's promotion rivals that they mean serious business over the next few weeks.

Rovers have put their recent blip behind them and recorded three straight victories including Tuesday night's 1-0 success against .

And it proved to be a positive evening for Micky Mellon's side as title rivals Lincoln slipped up late on at Sutton United.

Now, Harris, who helped himself to a hat-trick at recently, reckons everybody else will be worried about the form they can produce.

“It's game on,” he said. “We've got to take each game as it comes. Nothing else matters.

“People will be looking over their shoulders at us. We've got players coming back from injury, like James Wallace and Jack Dunn. They're good players. We're only going to get better game by game.”

Harris, the former midfielder, made just one league appearance in three months up until the start of the month, but with his place in the side now firmly cemented, he is ready to lead Tranmere's bid to get back into the League.

“We're a squad,”?Harris continued. “People will play games and people won't play games. So you've go to keep yourself fit and when the chance arises you've got to take it.

“The gaffer has said from day one that he's going to change formation and personnel to win each game. We're not going to stick with the same formation or players. That's what the squad is for. It's going to benefit us.”
