WOKING boss Garry Hill was left fuming with the decision to rule out their potential winner at Barrow on Saturday and admits their relegation battle is “becoming harder and harder”.
Richie Bennett's late goal for Barrow drew them level after strikes from Jamie Lucas and Kieran Murtagh for the Cards but there was more drama still to come.
Striker Delano Sam-Yorke netted what would have been the winner in stoppage time but Hill's celebrations were short lived as referee Andrew Miller blew up for an alleged offside.
It meant the Cards had to settle for a point and they are now only out of the relegation places on goal difference.
Hill was understandably frustrated after seeing the extra two points evade them with the Cards set to host Macclesfield Town on Friday.
“Kieran Murtagh took a corner into the empty penalty area and the goalkeeper flapped at it,” he told Bob Herbert.
“I asked the linesman what happened next and he said the ball bounced off the stomach of one of our lads – it fell a yard in front of him and it was fired home by another player in an offside position.
“But it bounced off the stomach of Delano Sam-Yorke and he recovered to put the ball over the line so he couldn't have been offside.
“Decisions like that are hard to swallow. It was well into injury -time so it cost us two valuable points. Before the game I thought it would have been a bonus to take a point because Barrow are a good, direct side.
“Now I am disappointed and there is a lot of pressure on the club. The battle is becoming harder and harder.”
