Boreham Wood open to offers for top scorer Morgan Ferrier after he rejected new deal

have agreed to sell top scorer Morgan Ferrier if they receive a satisfactory bid – but revealed they have previously rejected offers in excess of £50,000.

The 22-year-old striker signed for the Wood just before the start of last season after spending time on trial with Peterborough, Swindon and Stevenage.

The former Arsenal, West Brom, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Watford youngster enjoyed a promising debut campaign for Luke Garrard's side.

He scored 12 times in 32 appearances for mid-table Wood but has rejected the offer of a new contract at Meadow Park.

Because of his age, Wood would be due compensation if Ferrier were to move on without a deal being struck but the club say they are open to offers for the striker.

A Boreham Wood statement read: “The club have offered re-engagement terms to our top goalscorer and international Morgan Ferrier.

“However, Morgan has respectfully declined that offer and the club has agreed that if the right offer does come in Morgan can leave the club.

“For any clubs interested or reading this, we have recently turned down offers in excess of £50k for Morgan and we do expect movement on this over the summer.”

Junior Lewis, Tom Hitchcock, Jai Reason, Kenny Davis, Jason Goodliffe, Ben Goodliffe, Ben Nunn, Femi Ilesanmi and Matt Paine have all left the club.

Meanwhile, Grant Smith, club captain Joe Devera, team captain Mark Ricketts, Dave Stephens, Danny Woodards, Ricky Shakes, Angelo Balanta and Bruno Andrade have all been retained.
