BARNET striker Jake Hyde has vowed to repay his Bees' director of football and England C boss Paul Fairclough's faith in him.
Fairclough wanted to pick the forward when he took over as caretaker-manager following Ian Hendon's sacking just before the end of 2009-10, but Hyde was out injured and found himself released when Mark Stimson took over that summer.
But after a stint regaining fitness with Hayes & Yeading and then a decent 18-month spell in Scotland with Dunfermline and Dundee, Hyde returned to the north London side in 2012 and top scored last season with 14 league goals.
He moved into double figures for this campaign with the winner against Skrill Premier play-off rivals Grimsby on Tuesday, and will travel to Jordan aiming to win his second England C cap next month under the man who believes Hyde should be playing higher than he currently is.
The 23-year-old told The NLP: “As a footballer you want to play at the highest level you can, and it's a shortlived career. Paul has been brilliant for me throughout my time at Barnet and he brought me back to the club, so he's been a big influence on my career so far.
“He sees me play more than anyone, so it's a big compliment that he picks me for England and believes I should be playing higher.
“I'm really looking forward to going to Jordan and it's fantastic he's got so much faith in me. All I'll try to do is repay him on the pitch.”
