HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE manager Lee Bradbury believes rising star Aristide Bassele is more than good enough already to fire his side into the Skrill South play-offs.
The 19-year old showed the skill he clearly has in abundance with a superb debut goal in the win over fellow promotion-chasers Bromley on Saturday.
The result lifted the Hawks into the top six for the first time this season, and Bradbury feels the AFC Bournemouth loanee could be key to the club finishing there at the end of the campaign.
He said: “Bassele is proving a real handful. Teams can't seem to deal with him and it's really great to have him involved with the club at such an important time.
“He is improving with every match and I hope he can continue the form he has shown, he's more than good enough to play a big part in the rest of our season.”
Havant were due to play their 16th league match since the beginning of March on Monday night, but their game against Maidenhead at Westleigh Park was called off less than an hour before kick-off – and the manager was not happy.
“It's an absolute disgrace,” Bradbury said.
“Both teams wanted to play the game and I tried to convince the referee but he wouldn't have it.
“We've played games in a lot worse conditions than this and we have all been left totally frustrated.”
The Hawks were eager to do battle with a visiting Maidenhead side that have enjoyed a resurgence in form following six straight defeats in the month of March.
Havant's victory against Bromley was their first in four matches and Bradbury was hoping they could use Monday's match as a platform to continue their push for promotion.
He said: “Games in hand are no good to anyone; we want to get them played. Now it looks like the game will be rearranged for the final week of the season and that is an inconvenience we could well have done without.'
Bradbury's men entertain Concord Rangers in their next Skrill South contest this coming Saturday.
