TOMMY WARRILOW wants to sign off with a bang this weekend following his decision to leave Tonbridge Angels after six-and-a-half-years in charge.
The Skrill South side were relegated after a 7-1 loss against Chelmsford City on Easter Monday and Warrilow's last game at the helm will be against Havant & Waterlooville this Saturday.
Tonbridge achieved promotion to Step 2 in 2011 and although they managed a respectable ninth place finish in their first season they struggled last year and have been unable to get the results to keep them up this season.
But with a final game against Havant, who need to win to guarantee their place in the play-offs, Warrilow has promised to give the fans something to smile about.
Warrilow told The NLP: “What I want to do is get some pride back after the Chelmsford debacle, the lads that have probably not been getting many games lately might get a chance but we are not going to lie down and get our bellies tickled, I want to win.
“We have been in a relegation battle for the past three seasons and unfortunately we have been unable to grow into the league this year.
“We've been relegated and I'm the manager, I will always stand by my players – I genuinely thought we would get out of this.”
