DAN WOODEN scored one of the goals of 2015 on Boxing Day for Gosport Borough in their derby win over Havant & Waterlooville.
The forward got Gosport off to the perfect start in the 12th minute, hitting an audacious overhead kick from just inside the box after a poor first touch.
The effort beat Havant keeper Ryan Young and sent Borough on the way to an important three points at Privett Park.
Gosport boss Alex Pike said: “You've got to look at the build up and that's the way we wanted to play.”
Havant & Waterlooville manager Lee Bradbury added: “We lost because they scored an absolute worldy. Dan Wooden won't score another goal like that in his life.
“His first touch wasn't great, it's popped up and he's gone and hit an overhead kick. He's not got the contact he probably wanted, it's hit the side of his boot and spun it in but if you don't buy a ticket, you won't win the raffle.”
