Lewes appoint Steve Brown as interim boss

FORMER boss Steve Brown is back in management as interim boss of Ryman Premier strugglers .

Ex-Charlton defender Brown spent less than 18 months in charge of big spending Fleet, losing in the Conference South play-off final last season before being sacked in November.

He replaces Garry Wilson at the Dripping Pan who left the club two weeks ago after three straight defeats.

The Rooks are 19th in the Ryman Premier, six points clear of the relegation zone, and will be looking to Brown and assistant Dave Jupp to steady the ship.

A Lewes statement said: “Steve and Dave are both UEFA A Licensed coaches and have extensive knowledge of the scene.

“Steve will be in charge of the first team for Saturday's game against , along with Dave and Steve Eke.

“Martin Hinshelwood will work with Steve and Dave on the handover of first team affairs before continuing in his role within the academy.

“The club would like to put on record its thanks to Martin and Steve for the work they have done in the past few weeks.”
