ENFIELD TOWN have secured their long-term future at the Queen Elizabeth II stadium after signing a 99-year lease.
The Towners, formed 14 years ago following the demise of Enfield FC, became the club's first supporters owned club and have gone from strength to strength since.
They moved into the impressive Queen Elizabeth II ground in November 2011 and will be staying there for the long haul thanks to the new deal signed on Monday.
Bradley Quinton's side are currently sixth in the Ryman Premier and just a point adrift of the play-off places following last year's end of season drama which saw them miss out on the top five due to a delayed points deduction.
A club statement read: “Since its formation, a core of supporters have dedicated huge amounts of time and effort, as well as money, to establish, sustain and develop this club to where we are today.
“A major milestone in our history was achieving our very own stadium to call home back in the heart of Enfield.
“Yesterday (Monday) we reached another huge milestone, as chairman Paul Reed and vice-chairman Paul Millington signed a 99-year lease, which will secure a home for the country's first ever supporters run and owned senior football club and a place where we hope to welcome our community to be part of our continued aspirations of greater success.”
