RAMSGATE striker Joe Taylor may have scored five times in Saturday's thrashing of but the greedy forward said he wanted six!

He netted twice in the first half and three after the break – including two penalties – as the Rams romped to a 7-1 victory in the Ryman South with Taylor's final goal coming via an audacious lob from outside the box.

It meant an end to Ramsgate's three game losing streak and moved them up to eighth, just two points off the play-off places.

Taylor told the Thanet Gazette: “I got four once playing for . I went on a run where I got four, three and then two in the last three games of the season but five was special. I wanted six but at the end I was out on my legs, I was just walking around.

“We had a sort of crisis talk on Tuesday night after training, we all stayed extra to talk about it and it worked. Jim and Danny (Ward, joint-managers) have been through these spells before, they're experienced and they knew what to do.”

On his fifth goal, Taylor added: “I wouldn't have tried it if we were 1-0 down because I would have got a right earful from Jim and Danny!

“But I thought I'd already scored four, I saw the keeper off his line and I've done that before so I just went for it.”
