Johnson Hippolyte to remain as Staines Town boss next season

JOHNSON HIPPOLYTE will remain as manager of Staines Town next season after all but securing the club's Ryman Premier status.

The former and Yeading boss has turned the Swans around since replacing Nicky Forster back in February with the club languishing in 20th.

Staines have picked up 14 points from their last 21 in the Ryman Premier to move them up to 16th and it would now take a minor miracle for the Swans to suffer a second successive relegation.

The boss, known as Drax, has revealed he will be staying at Wheatsheaf Park next term after positive talks with chairman Matt Boon.

“I rang Matt to ask him what was in his thinking because I needed to know and the players need to know,” he told Get Surrey.

“I said to him ‘let's have a conversation one way or the other' and he said he wants me to stay which I'm happy about and which I want to do.

“Some of our players are already being tapped up. Nobody has been spoken to yet but I know who I want to keep and who I want to sign so we can take it from here.

“I'll be honest, my phone is ringing all the time. Because it's a good club and people know that and want to come to Staines. I'd like to think they want to come and play for me too.

“It's just getting the right player, for the right money, who want to come to us for the right reasons.”
