FORMER FC Clacton boss David Coyle has been tasked with saving Wroxham's Ryman North status following the resignation of Damian Hilton.
Hilton, who made over 400 appearances for Wroxham as a player, returned for his second spell in charge of the Yachtsmen last February, replacing Stewart Larter.
The club finished third bottom of the Ryman North last term and were reprieved from relegation but this season has been another tough campaign for the Norfolk outfit.
They currently sit second bottom of the table, 12 points adrift of safety and boss Hilton stepped down after Saturday's 4-0 home defeat to fellow strugglers Waltham Abbey.
Coyle has been promoted from his role as Hilton's assistant for the rest of the season and will begin his reign with Tuesday night's Norfolk Senior Cup quarter-final tie at King's Lynn Town.
Norwich-based Coyle joined Wroxham in the summer after guiding Clacton to tenth in the Step 5 Eastern Counties League Premier.

“David Coyle will assume the position of first team manager until the end of the season and has the full support of the club behind him. Assisting David, Kaine Challen will be stepping up from the reserve management team.”
