Former Chippenham and Yate man Tyrone Mings is Premier League bound

TYRONE MINGS has gone from the with to the Premier League in three years after signing for for a whopping fee of £8m.

Rejected by Southampton at the age of 16, Mings turned to and played for Yate and then Chippenham before earning a trial with Ipswich Town.

Tractor Boys boss Mick McCarthy liked what he saw and the Bluebirds received £10,000 as Mings headed to Portman Road in December 2012.

The 22-year-old will now be turning out in the Premier League – a six step jump from the Southern Premier – after he became Bournemouth's record transfer.

The Cherries reportedly beat Aston Villa, West Brom and Newcastle for the left-back's signature as Mings becomes the latest former Non-League star to progress to the top of the game.
