FORMER Watford and Stoke City striker Gifton Noel-Williams has taken his first steps into management, taking charge of struggling Burnham.
The club's football development manager Luther Blissett announced on Monday that Noel-Williams would be replacing Dave Tuttle as manager after he quit last month.
Blissett and Paul Toms had looked after the first team since but the club hopes the appointment of Noel-Williams will result in an upturn in fortunes.
It has been a miserable start to the season for the Blues following relegation from the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West last term.
They have lost all 12 of their Hellenic League Premier games so far this season although they have improved in recent weeks and Noel-Williams' first game in charge on Tuesday was a narrow 2-1 defeat to Oxford City Nomads.
The 36-year-old former England U18 international runs the GNW Football Academy in Watford and recently served as U18 and reserve team manager at Northwood.
Ex-England striker and European Golden Boot winner Blissett said: “Great to introduce the new Burnham FC first team manager, Watford FC golden boy Gifton Noel-Williams.
“Massive credit to (Burnham chairman) Gary Reeves, whose vision and judgement have kept the club going forwards.”
