Blyth Spartans ended a run of nine straight defeats that brought the sacking of manager Michael Nelson earlier in the week with a priceless and narrow victory over fellow strugglers Guiseley.
The visitors started well and took the lead after ten minutes, Luke Burke delivered a cross to the back post and Ben Tollitt had an easy tap-in giving the away side the lead.
All the goals came in the first-half with the visitors taking the lead with the opening chance. A cross was saved but Lewis Dobbin was on hand to fire in the rebound.
One of six BAME coaches to join the England set-up, Marcus Bignot was unveiled by The Football Association on Monday as an assistant to new U18s head coach Ian Foster.
