Maidenhead United climbed to third in the National League table after securing their second straight win with a professional 2-0 victory over Dover Athletic.
The League Two side fought off stiff competition for the 25-year-old, who hit 19 goals last season to finish joint-second in the National League scoring charts.
The 23-year-old had been thrown on by Magpies boss Alan Devonshire with just a few minutes to go and coolly tucked the ball home at the far post from star man Danilo Orsi’s low cross in the dying seconds.
The Magpies saw Ryan Upward sent off for a second yellow card seven minutes before half-time and the visitors took full advantage with Jake Hyde scoring soon after and King doubling the lead on the hour mark.
Fresh from their 6-0 thumping at Wealdstone at Tuesaday night, United were in cruise control in the first half after Orsi controlled and fired home Dan Sparkes’ left-wing cross in the 17th minute.
Orsi smashed a superb seven-minute hat-trick – his first in senior football – while Sparkes added two in four minutes late on as the rampant Magpies put six past the stunned Stones with no reply at Grosvenor Vale.
Devonshire’s men led twice, through Manny Parry and striker Danilo Orsi, only for the Hatters to hit back with minutes both times thanks to goals from Harry Cardwell and Paddy Madden.
The Bees, with only 13 points to their name all season and on their FIFTH different leadership, chased, harried, and hassled Maidenhead all afternoon to earn their first clean sheet since December 5.
Sean Shields looked like earning the Terras a deserved point four minutes from time but the home side kept plugging away and snatched victory through Andy Dallas’ penalty spot in the fifth minute of time added on after he was felled by Chris Massey.
The Magpies, who hadn’t played since their 4-1 victory over Torquay United ten days ago, badly missed James Comley and Rohan Ince – away on international duty – and the injured Dan Sparkes
