JAI REASON doesn't just think it was his TV wonder goal that secured him the Vanarama Conference player of the month award – he is just happy to assist.
The Eastleigh midfielder scored three times from out wide in February, including a blockbuster against Macclesfield live on BT Sport last Saturday to put the seal on the Spitfires' 4-0 win.
It was a magical month for Richard Hill's side ahead of a marathon March which sees them take on all the current top three.
Reason, 25, said: “I'm sure my goal against Macclesfield had a bit to do with it, but I think I have had a good February aside from that.
“I always target double figures goals wise but assisting is just as important to me. I believe I am the third top goal creator in the division with ten so I'm thrilled with that.
“We've had a good month and the team spirit here is fantastic. We've got a huge month ahead and this award has given me even more belief.”
Reason and Eastleigh took on Bristol Rovers yesterday – and Gas boss Darrell Clarke took the award for February's top manager.
There wasn't much debate either with Rovers winning five from five last month. Who would have thought Bradford PA would have an award under their arms after their February finally started two weeks into the month with a 5-0 hammering at Boston United?

But since then John Deacey's side haven't looked back, beating Stockport, Guiseley and Hednesford to edge themselves further away from the Vanarama Conference North bottom three. Deacey is the month's top boss.
