Ashley Carson resigns as Chesterfield director

side have announced that Ashley Carson has resigned as director of the club.
The news comes off the back of a disastrous Christmas period for the Spireites, which saw Martin Allen's side fall to a 3-1 defeat at on Saturday, before they shipped in four unanswered goals against on Boxing Day.
Yesterday's result left Chesterfield in the National League drop zone and led to a pitch invasion by disgruntled supporters.
Speaking to the Derbyshire Times, the club's Chief Executive Graham Been appeared to suggest that the events on Boxing Day may well have influenced the timing of Carson's decision.
Been said, “The reality is, it was going to happen in any event,
“But I think in light of what occurred yesterday, that would have had some bearing in it being brought forward.
Chesterfield will be desperate to reverse their poor run of form when they face Hartlepool, who have also failed to live up to expectations so far this season.
