Market Drayton legend Marytn Davies takes charge for third time

legend Martyn Davies has taken charge of the strugglers for a third time.
Davies, pictured, was named as the new manager of the NPL South East Division's basement side and successor to Steve McCormick on Tuesday.
Nick Roberts and John Timmis had been holding the fort as caretakers while the club looked for a  replacement for McCormick following his decision to step down last month after a 2-0 defeat at the hands of fellow strugglers .
Number two for over a decade to a succession of managers at the Greenfields Sports Ground – he only took charge in May following the departure of Davies.
Davies first returned to the Shropshire club in December 2017 for a second stint following the departure Carl Abott, just over two months after his controversial sacking ended his 18-year association with the club as player and coach and first as manager.
The Gingerbread Men hailed the return of Davies on social media. Announcing his return as head coach on Twitter, the club posted: “@MDTFC are pleased to announce the return of previous manager Martyn Davies @slappo10 who will once again take up the reigns.”
Davies has a mountain to climb to preserve the club's Step 4 status with just three points on the board so far from a single victory and ten defeats.
