AFC TELFORD UNITED have suspended defender James Hurst pending an investigation after he clashed with supporters on Twitter.
The 24-year-old former West Brom, Birmingham City, Crawley Town and Torquay man signed for National League North side Telford in the summer.
However, he clashed with Bucks fans on the social media site after Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Salford City which left the Shropshire outfit in 14th.
The defender was sent off for two bookable offences in the game at the New Bucks Head and then exchanged tweets with supporters on Twitter following the game.
Hurst posted: “Just when football becomes bearable you get a little ruducer (sic). I feel like a surgeon stacking shelfs (sic) in this league. I used to be a pro footballer now I play for fun, but get abused for my hobby, disgusting.”
He then responded to some tweets, claiming he only receives petrol money from the National League North club before adding: “football is not any of the players or staff priority”.
In the wake of the twitter exchanges, the Bucks have suspended Hurst while they conduct an investigation with a brief club statement confirming: “James Hurst has been suspended from the club, pending an investigation into the events of the weekend of 29th/30th October.”
