Football League promotion is inevitable for Forest Green Rovers, says owner Dale Vince

FOREST GREEN ROVERS owner Dale Vince says “it's just a question of when” the club get promoted to the League.

Rovers return to on Sunday to take on Tranmere Rovers in the promotion final after overcoming Dagenham & .

The Nailsworth outfit made it to the national stadium last season as well but lost 3-1 in the final to Grimsby Town.

The club's ambitious owner wants to be playing League One football by the time their proposed new wooden stadium is built.

Vince says the club is more relaxed following their play-off experience last year and says even if things don't go their way on Sunday, promotion to the Football League is inevitable.

The green energy tycoon told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: “It's just a question of when. If it doesn't happen this Sunday, we'll have another shot next year. It's part of the long-term vision for the club.

“It'll be different to last year, because we've been there and done it already. I think it makes us as a club much more relaxed about the trip to Wembley. Our first time in the play-offs, when we finished fifth, was much more anxious for us than this year, our third time in the play-offs.

“We're going to have a great day on Sunday and see what comes.”
