Fans’ Forum: Taste of the Orient is sweet – at last!

I REALLY must commend the work of Nigel Travis and Kent Teague, the new chairman and consortium backer who have saved from the blight of our undistinguished regime.

The first week of their control has coaxed a fire back inside me after Becchetti and his Ghibellines reduced the club I support to ashes.

Day-by-day communication with fans and the immediate action of appointing Martin Ling and Matt Porter into senior roles has given the club a breadth of expertise to deliver success.

Yet Travis is keeping expectations low and understated, and that's the right way to go about it, but he still talks with a conviction and a passion to get the club back on its feet and return it to the fans and the community.

The hashtag ‘#ourclub' being used on club's social media streams is just one of the symbols I take approvingly to heart and which makes me feel that this jaded club can regain its vigour.

As much as the fans will get the comfort of normality back in their life, I feel gratitude is owed to the staff who persevered for months with job anxiety and any on-the-pitch success will hopefully bring a bigger smile to their faces than mine.

The outlook for an immediate return to the League looks bleak but every supporter I've spoken to who follows the say that it is a better standard than League Two.

It's time for us to find our own Darrell Clarke.
