Weston-Super-Mare swoop for Bath City stalwart Sekani Simpson

RYAN NORTHMORE says his patience has paid off after the boss secured the signing of experienced right-back Sekani Simpson from .

The 32-year-old had made over 350 appearances for the Romans since signing in October 200 but after starting just eight times this season, he has moved on.

He has joined Bath's rivals Weston and gives the Seagulls a big boost in their fight against relegation.

Manager Northmore says he had been looking to bring in more experience to his defensive ranks but had to bide his time to secure Simpson.

After starting his career with Bristol City, Simpson had spells with Forest Green and before joining Bath, where he became a fans' favourite with his all-action displays down the right flank.

Northmore told Weston's website: “It's an area of the squad that I've been looking to improve for a little while and we've been patient to get the right signing. Thankfully we have.

“I think between Sekani and Kane Ingram, there's more appearances at this level than the rest of the squad put together.

“We went there (Twerton Park) last season and he was awarded a trophy for playing over 300 games for Bath, so he's well accomplished at this standard.”

Simpson added: “I would like to thank everyone at Bath City for the many memerable moments we had together.”
