Concord Rangers set to be charged with fielding ineligible player in FA Trophy

CONCORD RANGERS’ FA Trophy game against Lowestoft Town on Saturday has been postponed after the Beach Boys received notice of a charge for fielding an ineligible player.

Rangers beat fellow National League South side Sutton United in the last round and were drawn at home to the Trawlerboys in the first round proper.

However, the game scheduled for Saturday has been called off for the time being with the Beach Boys given until 5pm on Wednesday to answer the charge of fielding an ineligible player in the Sutton victory.

A Lowestoft statement read: “Saturday’s FA Trophy match between Concord Rangers and Lowestoft Town has been postponed pending the outcome of a charge against the hosts.

“Until we are informed of the outcome of this charge and what actions are to be taken against Concord Rangers, our first round FA Trophy tie is on hold until further notice.”
