MET POLICE have received a big blow after losing aptly named star midfielder Billy Crook to Ryman Premier rivals Town.

Crook joined the Met for his second spell in the summer of 2014 from after starring in the Police side that made it to the first round in 2012-13.

He was a key part of boss Jim Cooper's team last season as they finished fifth before losing out to in the play-off semi-finals.

Crook had made 39 appearances for the Met so far this term but he has decided to swap mid-table for a play-off challenge with , who put a seven-day approach in for him on Monday.

Met Police boss Jim Cooper said: “It came as no surprise that Enfield had already spoken to Bill, I am not precious about these things so although we will miss Crooky there is no point holding him for the seven days.

“Bill is an excellent player, he has served the club very well and I wish him all the very best at Enfield. They are a very good side already and Bill will bring even more quality to their squad and will not have long to wait to see him again as we have them at Imber Court in less than a fortnight.”
