GEORGE LEGG has tipped Borough to go on and win the Ryman Premier after his loan with the Beavers came to an end.

The young goalkeeper, 19, joined the promotion hopefuls in November but returned to parent club Reading this week after making eight appearances in the Ryman Premier.

Hampton were sitting second in the Ryman Premier prior to Tuesday night's home game against struggling following Saturday's 5-0 thrashing of .

And Legg, who previously enjoyed a loan spell with League Southern Premier side , reckons the Beavers squad has enough quality to earn promotion.

Legg said: “My time with Hampton has definitely enhanced my physical presence in the box, and has made me see things from a different perspective, which I feel you need as a goalkeeper.

“It was particularly good to represent Hampton at a time when they were challenging for top-spot in the league, and to get to play on unpredictable and slippery playing surfaces.  Both aspects challenge your mental state and pre- and post-match conditioning.

“I would like to thank Alan (Dowson, manager) and Martin (Tyler, coach) for the opportunity to represent Hampton, and to be part of, in my opinion, a championship-winning squad. I look forward to reading all about the club's exploits in the next season.”

Meanwhile, Hampton have moved to replace Legg with the signing of Brentford keeper Mark Smith on loan, who arrives for his second spell at the Beveree.
