The club's chairman George Frost feels his appointment is a positive move and told the club's website: “In bringing in Danny Heale we're looking to give a younger manager a chance to prove what they can do.

“Danny is an immensely popular character both with the supporters and in the dressing room, and I'm sure that his enthusiasm for the club will have a positive impact on the club.

“Danny has a tremendous reputation locally from his playing days, and the board feel he is the right man to take the First Team forwards and also help the development of our younger players throughout the club and youth setup.”

Frost also paid tribute to the departing managerial duo of Tilson and Davidson, saying:  “I'd like to thank Steve and Craig for everything they have done for the club and for steering us to a good league finish after a turbulent close season.”
