KIDDERMINSTER have lost another of their full-backs from last season after Mickey Demetriou decided to leave Aggborough.

The left-back, who has made 122 appearances for Kiddy, has joined right-back Lee Vaughan in opting for a move into the League.

While Vaughan joined Cheltenham Town, Demetriou will link up with Micky Mellon at League Two side Shrewsbury Town on a two-year deal.

international Demetriou said: “Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the players, staff and of course the fans involved at Football Club!

“From the day I signed the support given to me has been amazing and and the decision to leave was not one taken lightly.

“I've had three great seasons and ones I won't forget but I'm now looking forward to a new challenge in my career and the opportunity to play in the Football League with Shrewsbury Town. I wish the club every success in the future in achieving promotion back to the Football League.”

Kiddy boss Gary Whild added: “Mickey is another player who has served the club tremendously during his time here.

“It's obviously disappointing to lose him as a player but everyone here is delighted to see him step up into the Football League.”
