ALDERSHOT TOWN's Antigua & Barbuda international winger Rhys Browne has left to join Grimsby Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old scored seven goals in 41 appearances for the Shots last year having joined in July 2015 following his release from Charlton Athletic.
Brown started his career at Norwich City before the move to the Addicks and he excelled in his first season in senior football.
He hit headlines in February after finishing off a wonderful Aldershot move against Gateshead and Grimsby boss Paul Hurst clearly saw enough last season in the National League to persuade him to make his move.
Browne will be moving into the Football League with the Mariners and he told the club's website: “I spoke to the gaffer and he told me what he expects of me and what he says in me as a player – he told me everything I want to hear.
“I played against Grimsby last season and I liked the way they play. They're back in the Football League now so it's a great opportunity for me to express myself on a higher stage.
“I did well last season considering it was my first in mens' football but I want to score more goals next season.”
A Shots statement read: “Aldershot Town winger Rhys Browne has joined Grimsby Town. We thank Rhys for his efforts with Aldershot Town and wish him well for the future.”
Shots boss Gary Waddock has, meanwhile, secured the return of left-back Anthony Straker who played 229 times for Aldershot between 2007 and 2012.
