EASTLEIGH boss Chris Todd says he doesn't think the National League's decision to scrap transfer windows is a good thing.
The competition announced recently that transfers in Non-League's top tier would be allowed throughout the season, much like the National League North and South.
Maidstone United boss Jay Saunders backed the move, saying the old system “makes life that little bit harder, especially in your first year up”.
Todd, however, doesn't share that view. While the Spitfires know they won't be in a rush to bring in new faces before the end of August, their boss believes it will lead to a higher turnover of players throughout the division.
He told the Daily Echo: “From a manager's perspective, I don't think it's a good thing for clubs to be able to sign players willy-nilly.
“Week in, week out you're trying to plan for games but now a team could have three or four changes for any one game.
“I suppose it's a free market and potentially it will be of benefit to us if we have injuries, but overall it's not ideal. It'll be interesting to see how much change there is at clubs throughout the season.”
