Veteran Ben Strevens joins former boss Richard Hill at Whitehawk

VETERAN forward Ben Strevens has left and joined former boss Richard Hill at strugglers .

Ex-Spitfires manager Hill took over at the Hawks last week, replacing Pablo Asensio after a slow start to the season.

And he has already moved to add some familiar faces to his squad, bringing in Strevens, who can also play in midfield, on Tuesday after he left Eastleigh by mutual consent following three years at the club.

Chairman Stewart Donald said: “Ben has been a superb servant and ambassador of the club since arriving. He was an instrumental part of our championship winning side that secured promotion from the Conference South.

“I am sure all our fans would agree when I extend our thanks to Ben and wish him every success for the future.”

The 36-year-old made his Hawks debut on Tuesday night in the impressive 2-0 win at high-flying Borough.

He lined up alongside a couple of familiar faces, young defenders Tony Lee and Jack Masterton, who joined Whitehawk on loan from boss Hill's former side Eastleigh.
