The 32-year-old has scored two goals in nine appearances since joining Rovers in the summer after cancelling his contract at League Two outfit Portsmouth.

Rovers boss Mark Cooper expected Tubbs to be “a really big signing” but he has struggled to get game time in recent weeks and has been allowed to join the Cards for a month.

He goes straight into the Woking squad and could make his debut against former club – who he ended last season on loan with – on Saturday.

The Cards have won their last two National League games after a tough start to the season and will be hoping Tubbs can bring goals to Garry Hill's side.

He has plenty of experience in the lower leagues, making his name at City, scoring over 100 goals for the Whites before spells with , Crawley, Rotherham and Wimbledon.

A Forest Green statement read: “Forest Green Rovers can confirm that Matt Tubbs has joined fellow National League side Woking on a one-month loan.

The experienced striker is joining the Cards in a 28-day deal in order to build up match sharpness.”
