Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley rubbishes reports linking him with Grimsby job

LINCOLN CITY boss Danny Cowley has rubbished reports linking him with vacant managerial position at League Two rivals Grimsby Town, saying he is “100 per cent committed” to the Imps.

Cowley has been made one of the favourites by the bookies to succeed Paul Hurst at Blundell Park after his departure to Shrewsbury Town.

Former Braintree boss Cowley, who joined Lincoln in the summer, has got the Imps looking up with the club currently third in the after Tuesday night's win over .

Lincoln fans have taken to social media to plead with their boss to remain at Sincil Bank and Cowley says he has no intentions of leaving.

“Nicky (Cowley, assistant manager) and I are 100 per cent committed to Lincoln City and the journey that we're on,” he said.

“We've loved our short time at the club and there's a long way to go. We're working day-in day-out to make this a better club and bring success to the supporters who have been starved of success in recent times.

“It is flattering for me and the club because you only get mentioned in these terms when you're doing well. It's a complement for everybody but, as I say, all our focus is on Lincoln City.

“We've been really buoyed by the support and the buzz around the city. Our commitment to this club is as strong as ever.”
