Eastleigh’s Luke Coulson joins Barnet as defender Sam Muggleton goes the other way

HIGHLY-RATED midfielder Luke Coulson has sealed a move to League Two side for an undisclosed fee with defender Sam Muggleton going in the opposite direction.

The Spitfires revealed yesterday that an offer from a League club for Coulson had been accepted and the player was discussing personal terms.

Those talks went well and Coulson has now been unveiled as a Barnet player after just 12 months with Eastleigh.

The 22-year-old, signed from South side last January, had attracted interest from a number of clubs with his impressive performances.

The former Manchester City and Cardiff youngster was reportedly being watched by Championship clubs Birmingham City and Wolves at the back-end of last year.

He had scored seven times this season for the Spitfires and now moves into the Football League, hoping to make a similar impact with the Bees.

Eastleigh have, however, welcomed defender Muggleton who joins from boss Martin Allen's former club, also for an undisclosed fee.

The former Leicester and Gillingham youngster, 21, joined Barnet towards the end of the 2013-14 season and was part of the side that won the Conference in 2015.

Meanwhile, Eastleigh have confirmed Scott Wilson will be staying at the Silverlake Stadium despite the club accepting a bid for the 24-year-old.

The forward joined the Spitfires from in the summer and has scored four times but made it clear to the club that he wanted to remain in Hampshire.
