EASTLEIGH boss Martin Allen says he has been left baffled by the continuing poor home form from his underachieving side.
Allen, who replaced Ronnie Moore as manager at the start of December, has reshaped the Spitfires' squad with their play-off hopes seemingly all but over.
Skipper Joe Partington, winger Luke Coulson and defender Bondz N'Gala were among those who left while Allen brought in a number of new faces in a bid to kickstart the club's season.
However, Allen has won just one of his eight National League games in charge – a 1-0 success at Boreham Wood on New Year's Eve – and is still waiting for his first home victory with the club sitting in 13th.
The Spitfires' poor record at the Silverlake Stadium predates Allen's arrival and the Hampshire outfit's last victory on home soil came on October 25 against Torquay United.
Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat to Braintree Town extended their winless run at home to six games and Allen admits he's been unable to put his finger on why.
He told BBC Radio Solent: “I can't work it out. We'll be having a chat with the players when they come back.
“The players don't leave home purposefully to play poorly. They've done well in training.
“How do we get that to come back into their home form? I'll have a think about it to myself and then I need to find that out from the players.
“They're the ones going over the white line. I've got to help and look after them, support them the best I can and get the performances out of them. At the moment, they're underachieving.”
