LINCOLN CITY insist they have not received any bids for Sean Raggett after media reports linked League One side Millwall with a move for the big defender.

The 23-year-old joined the Imps in the summer from rivals and has enjoyed a memorable first season at Sincil Bank.

He has been a rock at the heart of Danny Cowley's defence and even scored the historic winning goal at Burnley that sent Lincoln into the quarter-finals.

Raggett was praised by boss Cowley earlier this month for playing on against despite having blood spilling from his mouth. He then went on to head the winning goal and help the Imps to the brink of promotion back to the League.

His performances this season are bound to have garnered interest from higher up the leagues but Lincoln managing director Kevin Cooke says they have received no concrete offers for the defender.

“I've not heard anything about that, apart from rumours I've seen on social media,” Cooke told Lincolnshire Live.

“I don't know how these things start but I'm not aware of any approach for Sean Raggett.”

Other Lincoln players have also been linked with moves up the football ladder but Cooke is hopeful that the club can hold onto their star players as they stand on the verge of League Two.

“They're going to attract interest, of course they are,” he added. “But a lot of them are under contract for next season.

“At the moment we've had no offers at all in any of our players, never mind just Sean Raggett.”
